Derrick Henry

Start Henry — he's still the team's main back and should get the most carries and goal-line looks, so a touchdown can wipe out a low-yard game against a tough run defense. If you have a much safer running back, your league gives extra points for catches, or early reports show reduced snaps or an injury, bench him.

Start Henry — he handled most of the running work last week (123 yards, long touchdown and goal-line carries) and has a soft matchup where his team should be ahead, so he should get plenty of carries and scoring chances. He did fumble and only played about half the snaps, so there’s some risk, but I’m about 60% confident this is the right call.

Start him — he’s expected to get most of the team’s carries and goal-line chances in Week 1 against the Bills, a matchup he handled well last year. If he’s available, grab him now since most experts say he’s locked into that role.

Draft him in the late first round if you want your team's main running back, or grab him in the early second if you want a better deal. He should gain lots of rushing yards and score several touchdowns this year, but his age and heavy carries last season make him a risky long-term choice.
