That makes him worth starting as a low-risk option this week, and worth spending a small part of your pickup budget (about 2–6%) to grab if he's available.

Shaheed's trade leaves an opening and the coach said Vele will get more chances, so pick him up now as a cheap backup. It's not guaranteed — watch how much he plays and how often the quarterback throws to him in Week 1 before putting him in your lineup.

Shaheed's exit could mean this receiver gets more playing time and catches. Add him to your bench in 12-team (or bigger) leagues and long-term keeper leagues, but wait a week or two to see if he actually gets more plays before starting him.

Draft him in the mid-to-late rounds as a bench player; don’t pick him early. He’s improved his route running and looks stronger, but he’s in a new spot with a lot of competition so he might not get many catches — if he does, he could finish big.
