Trey McBride

Getting the ball a lot and getting looks near the goal — start Trey McBride; he hooks up with Kyler Murray and Carolina is weak against tight ends, so he’s got a good chance to score. The only real worry is Arizona changing its game plan or other players stealing looks, but he’s worth starting this week.

He gets thrown to a lot — he led all tight ends in targets and catches last year and catches about three out of four passes, so he’s a safe weekly starter and worth picking in the middle rounds. Arizona didn’t add major pass catchers, so he should keep getting looks and could score more than he did last year.

Draft him in the early rounds — grab him late in the second or at the turn into the third if possible. He caught a ton of passes last year so he’s a steady weekly play, but he hasn’t turned those catches into lots of touchdowns, so expect steady points more than big boom weeks.

I'd pass on McBride in the early rounds since his new offense might run more, cutting into his catches. If he slides to the middle rounds, that lower pick makes him a fun gamble.
