Washington’s defense is worth starting because the Raiders looked shaky and gave up lots of pressure and turnovers, so Washington could get sacks and big plays. Keep an eye on Jayden Daniels’ status — if he’s hurt the Raiders might play slow and limit scoring, so only use Washington in deeper leagues or if you don’t have a better option.
Start them in Week 1 because they draw the Giants, but bench them in Week 2 for the tough trip to Green Bay. Pick them up now if available so you can use them in Week 1 and again in Week 3 at Las Vegas, but treat them as a short-term play since their value changes a lot week to week.
Use the Commanders' defense — Von Miller and Bobby Wagner should pressure Russell Wilson a lot against a shaky Giants line at home, which usually leads to sacks and turnovers. They can be inconsistent and watch for late injuries, but this matchup looks worth the risk.
Draft them only in the final round or as your last pick. The coach and a couple new big-name players plus an easy Week 1 make them worth a late gamble, but defensive points swing a lot so don’t waste an earlier bench spot.
